– There’s More Than One Road to Success –
That’s a wrap! The first quarter of 2019 is now behind us, and we only have one more to go to hit our goals for the financial year. April is an incredibly important month in many ways: religious celebrations with Easter, Australian heritage with ANZAC day, and of course my birthday. But also, wow, what a month for business productivity.
School holidays always impact productivity adversely, due to absenteeism, but April 2019 will also include three public holidays that are packed so close together they’ve caused abnormally high additional leave requests — some businesses even suffer from forced shut down periods. With that in mind, it’s important to make the most of the days you can to hit your budgets. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that while you or your staff were away that things just kept ticking along, that the dollars kept flowing in? Read the article below and see how Artificial Intelligence, Process Automation and Cloud Integrations can make this happen.
One of my favourite quotes is from Mahatma Gandhi: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” At Advivo we are passionate about educating ourselves, our clients, and our associates, which is why we host our quarterly educational seminars. Last month our seminar took on a different format as a Q & A session with a range of business experts. The feedback was encouraging and those who attended all said they took some valuable tips and advice away. Thank you to the fifteen business experts who made themselves available on the night to answer the questions. You can see some photos and video from the night here.
CALL OUT FOR HELP? There are numerous Government Grants & Offsets available to help businesses. They come with a range of activities, from research & development, exports, innovation, and waste disposal, just to name a few. But they come with their own questions — what are the specifics, how do you find out where/when they are, how long are they available? It ultimately makes it overly frustrating. There are local government grants, state government grants, federal grants, and some are only applicable to certain regions, demographics, ethnic groups. At this point, we and our clients need one central oracle to keep track of what grant would be best and stay updated on changing information, but sadly oracles are in short supply. Maybe some technical genius would be willing to create a website or an app to address this? In the meantime, please see the below article for highlights on current main grants. Note that the 2018 R&D Grant applications must be submitted before 30 April.

5 Key Tips for Doing Business in Asia
There’s nothing more satisfying than coming up with a creative idea that you believe will take the world by storm. And for many Australian businesses, a key stepping stone in launching their first foray into foreign territory is Asia. This makes sense — geographically it’s one of the closest markets to our land down under, and the Indonesian and Chinese populations are massive compared to us, with many Asian cities having a greater population density than our entire population.
