We've Got Your Back - Advivo banner

Welcome to our final newsletter of 2017. On behalf of the Advivo team I extend warmest of wishes to you for the festive season and hope that 2018 is joyous and prosperous.

Risk mitigation has been the focus for the last two months. Please have a read of the attached article and make sure you are doing things correctly when recording and dealing with annual leave, non-compliance can have significant consequences. Speaking of consequences we have noticed a substantial increase in ATO audit activities, 2 clients in a month, one thankfully had audit insurance which can save him up to $10,000 in costs the other did not.

On an even more sombre note risks to our health and well-being are heightened over the Christmas period with increased activity and travel, recognising this we want to make sure you are up to date with your estate planning, we have engaged a specialist to assist us in this regard if you get a letter and a follow up call from Matt we are just trying to make sure you are covered.

To a more positive topic, for a number of years our Business Pulse Report™ has been highly regarded and valued by many but perhaps perceived as inaccessible for some. We have launched a “light” version at reduced costs which will make it more accessible so look out for the free trial on its way.

Understanding Estate Planning
Written by Linda Cornacchia

Estate planning means something different to many people, and can often be put to the bottom of the to-do list. Generally anything that is related to death is something we do not want to talk about nor do we want to broach the sometimes difficult subject of how we are going to split up our Estate. Unfortunately, not talking about it or, even worse, doing nothing about it just makes it harder when the time comes. Read more

Advivo goes above and beyond to take you to the next level
Managing Partner Leon Stephan was taking a much needed holiday, he and a friend were heading off to play golf and attend a function in Shanghai.

Advivo has a number of clients in Shanghai with whom we normally do our regular quarterly meetings by Skype. As Leon was going to be in Shanghai on holiday, he contacted our clients and said, “While I am in China, let’s catch up and do the quarterly meeting face to face, no extra cost, of course”.  As you would expect they agreed, and though Leon lost a little bit of his holiday, he was happy to add extra value to our clients. Continue

Written by Emma Norman

Audit activity from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is currently on the rise and you could be the next target. In as little as one month we have had two clients targeted by the ATO.

The Audit Shield service provides for payment of professional fees incurred as a result of you being selected for an audit by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other relevant government agencies. Thankfully one of our clients had audit insurance which can save him up to $10,000 in costs the other did not.
