Estate Planning, Superannuation and Taxes
Unfortunately the attendance on the night was adversely affected by traffic chaos, thank you for those of you who did attend and those that could not make it there please find attached the powerpoint slides for the night.
On the night, amongst other things, Dale spoke about death & tax – we all know these are unavoidable and certain and Dale pointed out taxes do not go away even after death.
He also highlighted that legislation changes all the time so that uncertainty can affect your tax. We have seen a ‘perfect storm’ of considerable changes to legislation coming in to effect as at 1 July 2017 the budgets of 2016 and 2017, that can have a major effects on your superannuation and this year may affect your estate plan.
What does this mean for you? You should be reviewing both your superannuation and your estate plan now, failure to do so could result in your estate, or part thereof, not being able to be passed to the beneficiary you want. To be the recipient.
It is also important to note that as a result of these legislative changes your SMSF deed may need reviewing and amendment to accommodate these changes.
Thank You Emily O’Brien and Gavin Barnes from Redchip/Yodal for your enlightening presentation and introducing Yodal as an effective, simple, quick & easy and fixed price solution to this problem and provides a way of reviewing and updating your estate plan which can be “ project managed by us as your accountants who know your financial position better than anyone. They also articulated how Yodal also gives you the comfort and peace of mind to have detailed and meaningful discussions about your estate, how you want it distributed and who should be responsible for managing this process in the comfort of your own home, not rushed discussion in a sterile lawyers office.
