Getting The Right People On The Right Job Delivers Better Outcomes

We work with a lot of businesses and their staff. It is quite amazing how often we see major inefficiencies by having people doing the jobs that they are just not suited to.

Often it is the business owners error, performing tasks themselves in the mistaken belief they are saving money; where in fact their time would be much better utilised doing higher-value work which will deliver a much better outcome for the business, rather than spending their time on menial tasks such as bookkeeping, cleaning and maintenance.

“The right person doing the right job” is a core mantra for us at Advivo, I am sure it is mentioned each week in our team meetings, and I encourage you to actively embrace the concept and change thinking.

You might think you’re saving, but you’re actually losing.

Many of our clients would have heard my analogy of a client that owns a tennis centre who thought he was saving $50 an hour by mowing the lawns and attending to the gardens, where in fact he was losing $450 an hour as he could have been coaching at that time, earning $500 an hour.

The right people doing the right job is the epitome of efficiency, yes there are times when it’s not possible for a variety of reasons, including training time, but it should be your medium to long term objective, especially if you want to reach maximum efficiency and profitability.
